ABOUT US

The North Shore Marine detachment was formed 17 September 2007. We are a detachment of the Department of Wisconsin, which is within the Central Division of the Marine Corps League. As of June 2012, we are 42 members strong and growing. We are brother and sister Marines representing more than 6 decades of service to our country and our beloved Marine Corps. We welcome Marines and FMF Corpsmen of all ages.

Our primary mission is to assist Fox Company 2/24 and the welfare of its Marines. We also assist other Marines and veterans, their widows, and their children. We enjoy spending time with fellow Marines and helping individuals who have served this great country.

We are active in our local communities with such activities as Toys For Tots, collecting books for the veterans in the VA hospital / homes, and the Marine Rose Program. Our Color Guard and Marine Corps Memorial float have participated in several parades and ceremonies in Milwaukee and Ozaukee Counties, and have also attained honors such as the Mayors Trophy in Zion, IL.  A Funeral Honor Guard that provides a final tribute for an eligible veteran's honorable and faithful service has also been established.

Eternal Father, grant, we pray
To all Marines, both night and day,
The courage, honor, strength, and skill
Their land to serve, thy law fulfill;
Be thou the shield forevermore
From every peril to the Corps

Old breed? New breed? There’s not a damn bit of difference so long as it’s the Marine breed.
